Nairobi - Aberdares

08.00 hours pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive towards northern Kenya. You check in for lunch at Outspan Hotel in Nyeri. Outspan is the base hotel for the famous Treetops Lodge deep in the Aberdares forest. At 14.30 hours, you will be transferred to Treetops Lodge by the lodge transport. This is usually a group transfer for all the guests booked at the lodge. Only an overnight bag is allowed at the lodge due to limited space. You will leave behind the rest of your luggage in your safari van with the driver till next morning.

At Treetops lodge you see animals from your balcony as they come right next to the tree lodge at the water hole to quench their thirst. At night there are usually wake up calls when a rare animal is spotted.

Aberdares - Samburu Game Reserve

You will be transferred back to Outspan hotel in the morning for your breakfast. After breakfast, you will rejoin your driver and proceed on to Samburu crossing the equator. You will check in at Samburu Simba Lodge for lunch. Early afternoon is at leisure. From 16.00 – 18.00 hours, you will have your evening game viewing drive. Animals that you may see in Samburu include the reticulated giraffe, gravy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, elephants, gerenuk (a type of antelope with a long neck like a giraffe), lions among others.

After breakfast, you will have a morning game viewing drive and return to the lodge for hot lunch. In the afternoon you may visit the Samburu villages and see their way of life and traditions. Later you will have an evening game viewing drive.

Samburu - Nairobi

This day you start with a pre-breakfast game viewing from 06.30 -08.30 hours. Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out to drive back to Nairobi where you arrive at about 17.00 hours.
